Public performance rights are required if film to be used in a classroom or by a Library. As noted above, there are two levels of public performance rights: '2) PUBLIC LIBRARY' for uses in a public school classroom, and the broader '3) PUBLIC USE'. A Public Library or School may order at the Home Use rate ONLY if NO public performance rights are required. The Home Use rate can be used by public libraries and schools loaning films for private, in home use. But NOT for films used in a classroom setting. Public libraries wanting to show films to the public in a auditorium, would need the University level, 'PUBLIC USE' performance rights. Any University use of the film in a classroom or other setting requires the University level, 'PUBLIC USE' performance rights. To avoid any usage and pricing confusion University Users (i.e. any @*.edu), University Library and Public Library Users: Note the appropriate wording in section 6. Special instructions section at bottom of order form that you accept higher prices for public performance showings. Otherwise no public use rights are conveyed. |
